An excellent, scab-immune dessert apple.
Custom Trees
If you are you looking for apple or pear trees that we don't have in stock, you can place a custom order and we will make new trees for you. We can use your cuttings from a favorite tree, or you can choose from over 300 scions and many rootstocks that we carry. We only offer custom budding of apple and pear.
How does it work?
We take custom orders throughout the year until the deadline of July 15th. We "bud" the new trees in August and they stay in the ground through the following growing season. Trees are shipped to you in the spring roughly 19-20 months after budding.
Can I order now?
You can see the pricing chart below, and then use the Custom Tree Inquiry Form to send us your desired scion-rootstock combinations. That will not place an ORDER, but rather give us a starting point for discussion – we will email or call you upon receiving your inquiry so that we can work up an order together.
Custom Trees – Pricing
Pricing of custom trees is based on our standard pricing chart (see below) with custom surcharges added for orders of less than 20 custom trees:
- 1-5 custom trees: $20 per tree surcharge

Please note the following points for custom tree pricing:
- The count of trees in a custom order assumes a single scion-rootstock combination; for example, Honeycrisp on G.11. If you order 20 trees spread across several varieties, that would not count as 20 trees for the surcharge rules.
- The final price will be known when the final grade is determined, which occurs in November, 4-5 months before shipping. A speculative grade is provided when your order is placed, but the price remains speculative until the November before shipping.
- The final surcharges will be based on how many trees survive our growing season, not how many you ordered. For example, if you order 10 custom trees, but only 4 trees survive to ship to you, you will receive the lesser surcharge (the 6-19 tree surcharge). Custom budding is a process that cannot deliver 100% survival rate.
- Pricing is the same whether we use your cuttings or our scionwood. Please read about providing your own cuttings for Cummins Nursery to use in custom budding.
- If you are a wholesale customer, we will honor your wholesale tier for pricing discounts when you place a custom order.
Please also note the following about the standard pricing chart:
- Royalties are not included in this chart.
- Please add an additional $2.00 per tree for stone fruit and Asian pear.
- See our main Pricing & Grading Page for more about this and other pricing charts.
Custom Trees – Inquiry Form
Submit this form to start the custom order process. Note that submitting the form DOES NOT PLACE AN ORDER, but rather starts a discussion with Cummins Nursery. Upon receiving your submission, we will contact you to work up an order together. In the form, you can specify scion-rootstock combinations that you would like us to bud for you, and quantity of each combination (number of desired trees). Note that you can add multiple rows by clicking the "Add a Row" button. For reference, you can also see our scion list and rootstock list, indicating scions and rootstocks that we are likely to have available. You can also read about providing your own cuttings for Cummins Nursery to use in custom budding.
